[ Here Tony is, falling to pieces in front of him, and Steve doesn't know what the fuck to do. Every time he tries to make things better (which, granted, is a history that stretches back roughly five minutes), he just makes them worse, and, shit, he feels like saying anything else is going to lead to Tony slitting his wrists in front of him and making Steve watch him bleed just to make a point - because wouldn't that be the ultimate self-destructive act? And, hell, he's not sure Tony wouldn't be pushed that far.
